SciTech Cafe - Monday, June 9th, @ ABC

This is not a PGO or school-sponsored event

June 9th, 6pm
Amherst Brewing Company
UMass Physicists Fold Under Pressure

Can origami prove theorems?
What is the smallest crane ever folded?
Is it possible to do hands-free origami?

At our next SciTech Cafe event on June 9th, Professors Ryan Hayward, Tom Hull, and Chris Santangelo will share their research on creating soft, micro-scale polymer gels that can fold in remarkably complex origami shapes which could have applications in bio-medical engineering.  In this presentation you'll see the wizardry or origami and how its mysteries are being unlocked
and harnessed by researchers in the Pioneer Valley.

Please help us advertise (and please come!), forwarding the announcement below to any who may be interested. All are very much welcome (kids, college students, your parents).  You'll learn something if you come.  And you might win a prize!  Please check out our website, www.scitechcafe.org for more info.
